Moving Away from the 9-5

SAM

Hey, everybody, and welcome back to another episode of More Than Mom. I have some great content for you guys coming up as I am shifting into teaching more digital marketing and helping people, especially moms, move from that nine to five to making an income from home to help, you know, be home with their kids. That is the lifestyle that more moms are trying to get into. So we're going to dive right in today and just talk about some things that can really help you in that aspect so that way you can start to move and make that move towards being home with your kids.

SAM

So just some things I want to share is first off, I want you to get to know me a little bit better. I know that I have shared a little bit about my life and things like that, but just some things I really want you to know about me is my name is Samantha. I'm a mom of two. I own what's called Digital Abundance. What that is is I build websites, but I also teach people how to have a long term digital strategy so that way they can actually not just make money online, but actually build a sustainable business and continue to make that money online.

SAM

Because I want them to learn the basics, because when you learn the basics and you implement those, you're going to get the results. It may take a little bit of time, but you're going to get the results as long as you have a good content strategy to go with. All right, so that's a little bit about what I do, but let's talk a little bit about who I am and why I'm qualified to talk to you about being more than a mom.

SAM

Well, for one, I am more than a mom. I am the owner of Digital Abundance as well as a co owner of a chiropractic office. So what I see from a day to day is managing billing, customer experience as well as digital strategy for the office. And so with that, I'm away from my home about 15 hours a week, and it's the longest 15 hours a week that I have all week long. Not that I don't love serving and giving in the office because I love, love getting to serve people, but I love, love, love getting to serve my family even more.

SAM

I love getting to be home with my children, even on the hard days, because I do all this so they can have a better experience at life. I know I've shared before. My mom was a single mom. When we were little, she had to work really hard and what I want to do because I am so grateful. I am totally humble in the fact that I understand I could have a full time job right now. And I'm so grateful that I only have to work what I do and be away from my kids that long.

SAM

So don't get me wrong, I am totally grateful. But it's because I'm learning from those things that I want more moms to be in this space where they have that choice. And for me, it's that. And guys, I can tell you from experience, I have worked two jobs at one time to pay things off. I have done without. I have gone without for years at a time just to make things happen. I have showed up to places just because I know that I need to be there when I had the choice not to show up.

SAM

And I get it. I get being tired. I get wanting to come home and sit down and relax and just turn on the TV and numb yourself out. I get that. But if you're listening to this podcast, you are definitely trying to move yourself to a place where you can actually take bigger steps into what you want to do with your life. And I'm here to help you with that. So the really cool thing is, like I said, I teach digital strategy. I teach it to stay at home moms. I teach it to working moms trying to get home.

SAM

I teach it to anybody who's willing to listen and put in the work and turn yourself into a business. So when I say that, I get it. I truly do. Guys, for the first, I don't know, year or whatever, when I was working at the office before we bought into that business, literally, I was making money just to pay the sitter every 12 hours that I was working during the week was literally I was making enough to pay taxes. And then what I had left over was literally the amount that I paid our sitter. I worked for free for so long, guys. Tell me how that makes sense, because it doesn't.

SAM

But it was putting in that work and basically just putting in my sweat equity is what got me where I am. And a lot of times we have to put in that sweat equity to get to where we want to go. And I think sometimes that's really hard for people to put in so much work, and I know it is. I know I have literally cried so many times this summer because I have put so much into my business, and it's like crickets.

SAM

I really need to learn how to edit a cricket sound in here. But you guys know what I mean is I have learned to walk out that time when it's just putting in the work, it's just being consistent. It's just showing up, because those are the things that you have to do, is not only being consistent, but having a strategy with your consistency. So when you do show up, when you do put out content, you're speaking to somebody in a way that they need to be talked to so many times, especially in my group, I've had a lot of women say it's like, you're in my head.

SAM

Well, that's the point. I want to teach you to get inside of the head of the person that you're trying to solve a problem for. And over the next few podcasts, I'm going to talk really in depth about, like, I'm going to break down some things so that way we can start to move you to that place of like, okay, what does this actually look like? Here's how you get into my Mom's on a Mission group. Because we are moms on a mission. We are here to be more than mom, which is not a bad thing, but that allows us to be mom more often, a better version of ourselves, and be a better mom to our children.

SAM

So many times my daughter comes and sits in here in my office, and she's like, Mom, I'm working like you are. So for her work in her line of view, is mom working at home on her laptop. It is. Mom going out and getting these things done. And sometimes it's working from her phone. Sometimes she's typing. Sometimes she's working in her office. But for her, working from home is now something I have created as a possibility in her line of view.

SAM

So Moms, I get it. The grocery bill is going up every two to three weeks. And honestly, would $1,000 change your life every month? Would just like, $1,000 added to your monthly income change things? Would it be worth it? Could you replace your income from home with a couple of month? Because if you could definitely let me know. I'm going to link all the stuff in the podcast. Like, for me, it's that it's that I want you to say, how the heck do I get started? Well, that's what I'm teaching you. I'm literally teaching you how to get started, and it will change your life. And I promise you it's completely worth it to say, like, hey, I have this small online business on the side, even if it's just a side hustle. I hate that word because then you start to treat it like a hobby.

SAM

But even if it is just a side hustle for you, and it brings in $1,000 a month, and it literally buys your groceries all month, and you don't have to take that out of your paycheck, then boom, that's a win. And so what I want you guys to get from this is the whole point of what I'm going to be talking about is how to get you from point A, which is working the 95, which is we need a little more income.

SAM

How do I do this? Where do I get started to getting you to that place of long term strategy, to getting you to that place of like, OOH, this is how you do it. And literally, I'm going to lay that out for you. This is how you do it. So you can go out there and win much faster than myself. When I decided to start with Digital Abundance, just like, I was like, all right, I'm building websites. I'm doing this again. I'm going to run down that path again.

SAM

Y'all, I closed five figures in business in my first two weeks. So I can tell you I know how to make the money. But what needs to happen is I took that money, reinvested back into my business, got the system set up, got the tools in place so I can actually have long term success because I don't want to grind and grind and be looking for clients all the time. I want those systems to be in place for me. So that way it's a little more passive.

SAM

But two is like, with me, I have a really cool bundle. Is like when you sign up for your business, it's the build your business package. And I'll get that all set up for you later episodes. We'll talk about what that entails and how you apply to get that done. But it's going to be the build your business package. And that way you can just build your business, get everything going, get a solid website, get blogs, get SEO, get emails, get social media.

SAM

So way you can go out there and win. Because for me, I just want to serve you with the best way to win and quit doing all the behind the scenes stuff, trying to do it, pulling your hair out. I don't know how to post on Instagram. I don't know how to write a caption. Well, I'm here to help you with that. And so if this is you, I cannot wait to work with you because what's going to change in your life if you change? Nothing.

Nothing but property taxes go up, grocery bills go up, car insurance goes up. And so somewhere the rubber has to meet the road. And I can't wait to see you there. Like I said, I will link the group in the caption. I'll be pouring, pouring, pouring into you guys. That's where it's all at. That is where you're going to build your community of women just like yourself. That's where you're going to say, man, today sucked, and I just need some encouragement. And there's going to be multiple people being like, hey, you can keep going. You are not alone in this.

We are all working together because the point is, moms, we don't have to be alone anymore. And there's a community for women just like you. Just like you who want more out of life, who don't quite know how to get there, but you know, you're willing to at least find out. And so in this episode, I just know that you guys hopefully got a little bit of excitement because I'm excited about this, guys, this is what I love to do, is to serve you so hard so I get to watch you win and just be your biggest cheerleader.

I was a cheerleader forever. I loved cheerleading. I love getting excited for other people and watching them win. That is the coolest thing in life to me. When my kid goes out and does something new and she's like, mom, watch me. And I'm like, sister, that's amazing. Guys, I want to be like that for you, too, because what does it mean to have somebody to sit there and invest in your life and invest in you and love your business and your products as much as you do?

SAM
